Hello, my name is Ronan! I first started performing on the street corner in front of my childhood home, and I haven't stopped since! I am a professionally trained musician and performer with a BFA in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory at the Berklee College of Music and have extensive professional experience across multiple instruments and voice. I have performed at venues such as Speakeasy Stage in Boston, Radio City Music Hall, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center with the All-State Choir, in which I tested in as the #2 ranked Tenor in NJ. I am an artist myself, and have signed a distribution deal for my own music.
I bring over a decade of instrumental experience to my teaching. I’ve played piano for 13 years, trumpet for 12 years, and guitar for 5 years, reaching an advanced level in all three. My background includes extensive experience in sight reading, playing by ear, and improvising. While at Berklee, I tested into the advanced section of Harmony 4, the most complex theory class offered. As an educator, I view musicality as a teachable skill and strive to help students develop their abilities in ways that are transferable across instruments and creative mediums. I am comfortable with all ages and skills, and have experience working with children for several years as a music director of a theater camp.
Beyond performance, I specialize in songwriting and creating music for the ground up. My own songs have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on social media, and thousands of streams on spotify. I love guiding students in developing their own compositions, whether it’s writing lyrics, crafting melodies, arranging harmonies, or bringing a song to life with an instrument. With firsthand knowledge of both the creative process and the music industry, I help students not only improve their musical skills, but also understand how to share their music with the world and navigate the music industry.
