I'm Andrew! I graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts (BA) in Environmental Studies in 2020 and a Master's of Arts (MA) in Philosophy in 2024. I have always had a deep-seated passion for teaching, and I believe it is my vocation. I have extensive experience after 7 years as an educator on outdoor ethics and team-building. Teaching topics ranging from sustainability and ecology, to rock climbing and leadership. I also bring with me years of tutoring experience working with high school and college-aged students working on essay writing and editing.
My primary goal as an educator is to benefit, enable, and empower the future generations of students to become informed and critical thinkers. School classes are not and should not be dry subjects. I ground my pedagogical method in my Philosophy education: not simply a method, but a constructive way of thinking critically in and through topics. I hope to make learner a pleasant and painless experience.
I believe all students have limitless potential! My goal is to be a tutor and educator that students can look to as they challenge their thinking. I hope to engage students and help them connect with material in ways they maybe did not think possible before, bringing with it a newfound understanding. One of my strongest qualities is story-telling. I am capable of taking almost any subject or topic and breaking it down and presenting it in ways that both engage and inform any audience. Whether it's Plato's Allegory of the Cave or Biomagnification, my students will be able to walk away with a comprehensive understanding in their own words that will stay with them long after their courses may end.
