I am a second-year resident physician in Psychiatry at Virtua Health with extensive experience tutoring students of all ages and academic levels. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2017, worked as a medical scribe, and later earned my DO from Rowan-Virtua School of Medicine in May 2024.
Throughout my academic career, I have consistently worked as a tutor in both structured and one-on-one settings. During high school and college, I worked at the Kumon Learning Center, helping students build strong foundations in mathematics (from basic arithmetic through Calculus), reading comprehension, and grammar. In medical school, I served as a peer tutor, providing individualized support in Neurology, Immunology, and Rheumatology, with strong emphasis on COMLEX and USMLE-style question interpretation and test-taking strategies.
I am most comfortable working one-on-one because it allows sessions to be tailored to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. My goal is not just short-term understanding, but long-term mastery and confidence. I often use the “teach-back” method, where students explain concepts in their own words, as I believe, from personal experience and scholarly studies, this to be one of the most effective ways to ensure true understanding.
I also incorporate brief, low-pressure check-ins or “pop quizzes” to assess prior knowledge and identify gaps early. This allows us to focus efficiently on problem areas and build a solid foundation. Whether you are looking to improve grades, strengthen fundamentals, or gain confidence in challenging material, I strive to create a supportive, collaborative learning environment.
