Hi, I’m Makayla! I’m a second-year law student (2L) with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish, and I have over five years of experience tutoring students across the Social Sciences. I primarily work with students on academic writing, including research papers, essays, and revisions in subjects such as Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and History, and I also support high school students enrolled in AP English Literature, AP Psychology, AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Spanish, and AP Government.
Much of my work focuses on helping students develop clear arguments, strengthen organization, and communicate their ideas more effectively. Whether you’re having trouble getting started, refining a thesis, or polishing a final draft, I tailor each session to your specific assignment and goals. I also help students build effective study strategies, including outlining, exam preparation, memorization techniques, time management, and active reading techniques they can apply across classes. I take a student-centered approach and prioritize clarity, efficiency, and practical feedback you can use immediately.
In addition to writing support, I offer online Spanish tutoring in grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and conversation. I also regularly assist students with personal statements for law school and graduate programs, guiding them through brainstorming, drafting, and revision to ensure their statements are focused, compelling, and authentic.
