jIn my undergraduate career I was an active teaching assistant to the chemistry BA majors and other various majors that had science requirements. I would run various study sessions 2-3 times weekly and help with test prep for their exams. I found that the small study groups always worked best as it allowed for specific questions to be addressed instead of in a large group when only general test content was reviewed.
I have also worked 1 on 1 to tutor for chemistry with other students that found the class dynamic was not suited to their style of learning. My personal approach is to try and address the main issues of confusion and then build upon that. In some cases, it’s changing the way you approach the questions that matter. I strongly believe from my own experiences that the best way to learn is from using practice problems to approach a question from each angle it can be asked, that way comes to the exams there can not be any surprises waiting for you!

During my high school days, I would often tutor half of my classes while the teachers would focus on the other half. While it may not have been the best approach, I often had slept in my trigonometry and precalculus classes, however, I always received near-perfect marks! As such, I was often asked to either explain problems or help guide the classes through worksheets. In college, I often tutor for calculus 1 for a number of my roommate's siblings

I hold a dual major in both biochemistry and chemistry and have worked as a lab research assistant for organic synthesis and purification of compounds. I have worked as a teaching assistant for the intro to chemistry courses for my university and loves every minute of it!

I’m more than happy to address any concerns big or small! I first hand know how upsetting it can be to struggle through these courses and have been in that spot as well, but I hope that for all the struggling I went through and survived, that I can take the stress off of you and have it all make a bit more senses than before!
