All Students are capable of learning, it is up to us and the parents to figure out how they learn best!

I strongly believe that each and every student can be successful in their studies with the right approach and the right tutor. I never give up on any of my students and I am motivated to reach them and help them learn. With me, your student will get Positive results in a short amount of time. Students will become more focused, more organized, and achieve higher grades in their coursework.

I focus quickly and efficiently on the problems students are having and address them immediately. These can range from processing issues, attention deficiency, poor attitude, lack of confidence, organization, study skills, or difficult teacher relations.

I graduated from the Number 1 school in the country rated by Forbes in 2009. I am a combination of tutor and coach and believe students should learn for life, not just for one subject. With that, I include organization, time management and test taking strategies in my services. I use all modes of teaching - audio, visual, tactile - to ensure my students learn, retain and apply their learning.

With more than 25 years of experience of working with children, young adults, and seniors, I have seen many different challenges to learning and have used just as many different solutions.

I have also worked with many senior citizens in teaching them new skills such as computers, emailing, word processing and other electronic programs.

Lastly, I am a proud veteran of our Armed Forces, having served for over 13 years and am actively involved in my community as a baseball, soccer and lacrosse coach and Church Deacon.

I work with students from elementary through the college level and currently work with students at some of NJ's most prestigious schools such as The Pingry School, Delbarton and The Lawrenceville School. I have also worked with students from West Point, Columbia University, Cornell, and Rutgers.

Your child will become more confident, less stressed, better o

Effective Tutor

This review was written by my son, the student! Al has been helping me with my college level economics courses, such as Macroeconomics, International Trade and Econometrics. His approach is to discuses and analyze all questions in detail and enable the student to "teach" himself/herself to understand the topic. He has been very helpful even with subjects that he was not familiar with, by discussing them at length until we came up with a solution. I think this way of tutoring has been very effective for me.

Great tutor who got me into a business school

Al O. is an excellent tutor. He helped me attain a great score on the GMAT and got me into business schools that I wanted to go to. He taught me how to approach the different types of questions asked on the GMAT and went through various strategies to help me prepare for the exam. I highly recommend him for anyone that needs help preparing for the GMAT exam.

Confidence builder

Al has been a great match for my 13 year old son. Al quickly instilled confidence in my son about what he knows. He developed a positive way of thinking and no longer dreads homework. Within a few sessions, my son moved from comments like "I can't do it" to being enthusiastic about a major project. Al has a 'helpful big brother' approach that is non-critical and put my son at ease. Al quickly determined strengths and needs and has given attention to both. We look forward to my son becoming more skilled and have added another subject area to his lessons.

Al Obregon, a motivator and results orientated tutor

While I haven't written a review for every lesson, I must say that Al's work with my son has delivered positive results in Spanish. Additionally, Al's communications about personal motivation, study skills and how to leverage getting better grades has spilled over to other subjects. Al's a great tutor.

Great Spanish tutor

We were looking for a Spanish tutor. A friend recommended Mr. O. Since being tutored by Mr. O, our daughter’s Spanish knowledge/fluency has increased dramatically. Mr. O made it fun and easy for our daughter. He was so friendly and supportive. My daughter said it did not feel like a tutoring session, but rather “like sitting with a coach”. He made her so comfortable. I liked how Mr. O. not only addressed our concerns, but took the time to sit and talk with our daughter to see where she felt her challenges were with her Spanish learning success. I am more than pleased to write on behalf of Mr. O., his background as “a tutor, coach and cheerleader” set him above other tutors we have experienced. We recommend him highly!
