Nice to meet you! My name is Sean and I graduated from the University of Delaware (UD) with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. I currently work full time at a large pharmaceutical company where I apply advanced math, chemistry, and problem-solving skills on a daily basis. I have a strong academic foundation in calculus, differential equations, statistics, chemistry, physics, and core engineering principles. These subjects allowed me to confidently tutor a wide range of math and science subjects. Having recently navigated a rigorous STEM curriculum myself, I understand both the technical content and the common challenges students face when learning these subjects for the first time.

I have an extensive tutoring background that began in high school and continued throughout college. During my time at UD, I consistently provided 1:1 tutoring to fellow students ranging from freshmen to seniors in various math and science courses. My tutoring experience has primarily been individualized. I tailor each session to the student’s specific needs, learning style, and academic goals. I have worked with students at all skill levels: from those seeking foundational support to those aiming to strengthen their understanding for exams and long-term success.

What truly sets me apart as a tutor is my personalized, relatable approach to teaching. I prioritize taking the time to understand how each student learns best and what motivates them, then I adapt my explanations accordingly. I enjoy contextualizing complex material by connecting it to a student’s interests, whether that’s video games, sports, tv shows, movies, or real-world applications, so that the concepts feel intuitive and engaging rather than overwhelming. I am extremely personable and patient, and I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gaining confidence. When students can see how their class material connects to the things they care about, learning becomes exciting, meaningful, and far more rewarding.
