I’m currently a doctoral candidate in Quantitative Methods in Educational Psychology at CUNY Graduate Center. Previously, I earned a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from New Jersey City University (4.0 GPA) and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Mathematics from The College of New Jersey. My eclectic educational background has prepared me to be an effective educator by not only providing me with knowledge of mathematics and statistics but also an understanding of how people learn.

With 12 years of teaching experience, I have taught everything from pre-algebra to calculus, as well as statistics in both math and psychology departments at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I also have over a decade of experience in data analysis and research design. I have contributed to projects for the New Jersey DOE, The Kessler Foundation, and numerous individuals. I was also a statistical consulting fellow at CUNY Graduate Center for three years. This position allowed me to teach other graduate students as well as faculty members how to think about research design and data analysis. Many of my collaborations resulted in publications, with the most recent appearing in PNAS. Recently, my expertise was recognized with a federal statistical innovation grant.

Despite my academic achievements, learning didn’t come easily to me. I have a learning disability that makes everything a little more difficult, but for me, my main struggles were learning to read and developing fine motor skills. I had difficulty writing various numbers and letters, as well as tying my shoes. I eventually caught up and read at grade level by 7th grade.

If you’re struggling in math or statistics, need help preparing for a standardized test, or want to get ahead in a class, I can help. We’ll work together to find a way to make the material make sense. I look forward to meeting you!
