My passion for math and science started early. Growing up in Shanghai, I was selected for the Gifted Mathematics program at Shanghai High School, where I went on to win multiple regional and national competitions in Mathematics and Chemistry. That early love of problem-solving never left me — it followed me through a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Texas A&M University and a 15+ year career as a research scientist and director at leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies including Merck, DuPont, and Ingredion.
Throughout my career, one of my greatest joys has been mentoring and coaching — helping junior scientists grow technically and build confidence in their abilities. I bring that same philosophy to every tutoring session.
In recent years I have had the pleasure of teaching Pre-algebra and Mathcount at a local Chinese school, and have expanded into AMC preparation and AP science subjects. Students and parents have responded warmly to my personalized, patient approach. I believe every student learns differently. I tailor every session to the individual — whether the goal is building foundational confidence, excelling in a class, or preparing for a competitive math exam like the AMC 8, 10, or 12.
