Hi! I'm Maggie G. I graduated Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s degree in Sequential Art which is the fancy way of saying visual storytelling or comics! I also have an Associates in Fine Art from Saint Louis Community College. Art is amazingly freeing, yet that can be a frightening wall to overcome when trying to learn basic skills such as; accurate anatomy, realistic rendering, or illustrating an idea. In my years of art classes from middle school to college; I have seen that the best way to teach a subject that can be biased is by learning the goals of each individual and showing that person why each skill will be useful in their creative journey. I would like to offer a less overwhelming way to learn about drawing by bringing each artist into the process. I can help you reach your ongoing potential for a class or for personal goals. I’m very open to questions and am flexible to individual artistic needs.

At SCAD I was vice president of my majors club; The Sequential Art Society where I helped give people a base of support. We would teach the club members why it is always necessary to further basic drawing skills, encourage healthy learning habits, good materials for working and answer any questions they would bring us. We had a variety of artists joining us to learn, painters, digital artists, illustrators and more, who all came to us with the common desire to strengthen their artistic abilities. At STLCC and SCAD I took a variety of drawing classes like; Figure Drawing, Creature Design, Human Anatomy and Scientific Illustration. I also spent 6 months working for an open art studio called YUCANDU where I helped anyone who visited to paint, collage and mosaic to their hearts content.

I think every aspiring artist deserves a chance to find their footing. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a lesson or ask any questions or you might have! :)

Excellent Class!. Great insights about art and art student life!

Maggie took the time to explain to my daughter all about Sequential Art, her experience as a student in SCAD and artist life in general. Very supportive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! Would work with her again in the future. A+
