I have a wealth of teaching, coaching and supervisory experience in the public-school system. I led many district’s efforts with the “Integrating the Arts” partnership through Count Basie Theater and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C. I was the co-founder of the Central Jersey Youth Chorale, which is a free program aimed at providing multiple arts experiences to students in the community. I have enjoyed being part of both public, and charter schools, and engaging students with a passion for learning. Inspiring others to learn and grow is a strength of mine. I held the role of Instructional Dean and Supervisor of Instruction at a NJ Charter School, overseeing the reading and writing curriculum for Grades 3 - 5. I performed observations, co-teaching, and modeling effective lesson plans. Prior to this role, I served in a similar position as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction at a Charter School. I was responsible for all curriculums for Grades 3 – 5 and served as the PARCC Testing Coordinator. I have much experience in training and leading entire districts in professional development no matter what the topic. My most recent teaching experience was as a long term substitute teacher for a local Gr. 3 class. Students love me and I have a gift of building strong relationships with both students and parents.
As an educational consultant, I had the opportunity to introduce a Balanced Literacy Program to the staff, administration, and students. I provided professional development for teachers by giving them the additional support needed to implement this new program. I delivered essential leadership for the school’s entire literacy program by helping create and supervise a long-term staff development process that supported both the development and implementation of the literacy program.
