Hi, I'm Dior! I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health. More recently, I have taken graduate coursework in the field of Data Science. I realized that the classes that are most memorable today and had the greatest impact, were those where the professor made the class interesting. These professors were engaging, humorous, included real-world application, and were always eager to go the extra mile to help me understand when I needed clarity. I try to incorporate these qualities in my tutoring approach and do everything I can to make learning a fun and memorable experience. I format my lesson plans based on the individual needs/learning styles of my students, however, barring any specific needs, I usually start with: introducing the topic, gauging the student's understanding, building off of the students level of understanding to provide more depth, and lastly introduce fun, real life examples to apply the learning to.

I have over two years of combined experience as a teacher's assistant and tutoring at the collegiate level. I worked directly with students at various stages, which is why I believe it is very important to meet people where they are, rather than applying a one-size-fits all teaching style. I was able to help students during class time, as well as hold office hours after class. The subjects I have tutored include college algebra, human anatomy and physiology, and college writing.

I believe one of the best gifts in life is passing on your specialized knowledge to someone else in a fun and joyful way. I still remember math concepts from the second grade and eighth grade biology because of how fun my teachers made it. I hope to pass that on to others the way it was passed onto me.

I have experience tutoring math levels from elementary school (starting at second grade math) up to college algebra, so I am very adept to adjusting my teaching style based on the grade level of the student. My highest level of success in math is Calculus I, so I have an in-depth understanding of mathematics, coupled with my overwhelming joy for solving math equations and making it fun. Elementary math prepares learners for math concepts that are used in everyday life, and I would be more than happy to be apart of that learning process.

I have many years of experience with varying levels of math. My highest level of math that I achieved is Calculus I, and I have tutored math grades from second grade up to college algebra. Prealgebra is the precursor for all math concepts that follow, so the foundational understanding is very important.

I have completed a number of personal and graduate level assignments and projects using Python. During my time as a Data Science student, the core programming language for all of my classes was Python. The modules that I have exceptional experience in include pandas, beautifulsoup, and regex.
SAS

SAS

I have completed a certification in SAS and I use SAS in my role as a Data Analyst. Prior to my role as an analyst, I also used SAS as a Data Manager for the local health department. My knowledge of other programming languages furthers my SAS skillsets because I am able to translate how I code much more efficiently.

Thorough and flexible tutor

Dior was very helpful and knowledgeable on pandas concepts in Python, and was able to walk me through a few different ways to code things. Dior was also very thorough, breaking things down step by step, making sure I could understand the concepts. I definitely recommend tutoring with Dior if you need help with Python and/or pandas.

Dior was able to connect with me on a different level than what I eqs receiving from Boot Camp. She was a good listener and was able to provide me guidance to the technical terms on a layperson level. She was very patient through some of my confusion as well.
