I have been teaching math at the elementary and middle school levels for eleven years. Most of my years teaching have been in fourth grade, I have also taught second, seventh, and eighth grade. I have experience tutoring at the schools I teach, as well as having worked for Huntington Learning Center. I have my teaching certificate in K-6, as well as a math specialization certificate for grades 5-8.
In my tutoring experiences, I have worked with scholars in small groups, as well as one-to-one. I strongly believe in reinforcing skills learned in the classroom through a small group setting both as an educator and a tutor. I have seen the results during my time working at an elementary school, where tutors were brought in to work with scholars in math and ELA. Improvement in participation, classroom discussions, test scores, and overall subject confidence. Tutoring creates a positive snowball effect that goes a long way in student success.
