I’m Dr. JY, a physicist, electrical engineer, and experienced Princeton Ph.D. tutor with U.S. patents and a lifelong love of teaching.
I hold both Ph.D. and M.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University with minor in Physics. My B.S. is in Theoretical Physics, and I’ve had the unique privilege of studying under six Nobel laureates.

Dr. Jay is hands down the most passionate teacher we have ever met. My son is already a high achiever in a very competitive school. He wanted to use his winter break to dive deeper into Physics; that being said, we were incredibly impressed by Dr. Jay’s session! Having tutored kids in the past, I can see how much he truly cares for his students. According to my son, Dr. Jay's knowledge in Physics is so vast and deep that he can instantly identify any student's weak points, ensuring thorough memorization and mastery in those areas. Jay was a great tutor! He was very patient and understanding, and explained concepts very well. He really makes sure you know how it works before moving on, and won't just explain it to you. He makes sure you can explain it to him in your own words, which helps a lot with learning. He goes at a good pace and guides you through everything well. Thank you for the lesson!

Dr. Yang is a great teacher! He is very passionate about his job and explains complex conceptual topics in a simple manner. He was ready with my daughter text books information before starting the session . He was excited to deliver on concepts , inviting questions , answering them and made sure i understood it . Dr. Jay is clearly very passionate about his work. He is the kind of teacher that will let you stumble a bit before showing you how to do the problem efficiently and that approach helps the concept stick. He explains concepts very thoroughly in a way that is intuitive. I really enjoy his style of teaching because I feel more confident after a class with him.

Teaches very in depth
Something I’ve noticed about Jay that is different from my high school teachers is that he explains things in context and depth. While other teachers may only provide equations to use, he makes sure to explain these equations, why they work, and makes sure that you derive them so you understand where they come from and why they work. This practice is especially useful because it makes sure that you fully understand the content.

He is a great tutor and explains things in context. Many teachers simply give students equations for them to plug in, but he makes sure to explain the process conceptually with context to ensure full understanding of the situation. Very Awesome!

A great method for teaching!
Me and Jay went over a few practice problems for my Physics C Mechanics test, and just with two of them, we had covered so many topics! Jay is able to understand very easily where you are struggling and helps boost your confidence by targeting those weaknesses. My physics test grades were not great before I had these sessions and learned how to really study for physics, but after this session I got a B on my unit 3 test. This was an awesome improvement!

Jay helped me understand the concepts better and approach the questions in a different way, I think working with him made me realize how easy math actually is. His explanations and solutions are detailed, and he does everything to make sure you understand the question. He is the best!
