I am currently an undergraduate at Emory University majoring in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. I possess a strong background in biology, health science, and writing. My research work has centered on subjects like cystic fibrosis, astrocyte cells in the brain, protein structure and funtion, and public health, and I bring that same analytical mindset into every tutoring session. Outside the classroom, I am also a fully certified EMT, which has strengthened my ability to stay calm, explain clearly, and meet people where they are. These experiences have taught me that being a strong tutor is not just about knowing the material. It is about making difficult ideas feel manageable and helping students build real confidence.
My teaching experience has taken several forms. I have worked with younger students through literacy support and mentoring, and I have also spent a great deal of time helping peers and classmates in one on one academic settings. That means I am comfortable working with a wide range of ages, from children building foundational skills to high school and college students tackling more advanced classes. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and thorough. I believe students learn best when they understand why something works, not when they simply memorize an answer. I like to ask questions, identify where confusion begins, and then rebuild understanding in a clear and structured way.
