Bio

I have helped hundreds of students improve their grades and scores in Math subjects such as SAT Math, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Calculus to name a few, and Physics for High School and College level courses. Many of my students now attend schools such as Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, and Rutgers. I have helped hundreds of students improve their grades and scores in Math subjects such as SAT Math, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Calculus to name a few, and Physics for High School and College level courses. Many of my students now attend schools such as Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, and Rutgers. These results come from many years and hours of breaking down complex mathematics and physics problems into simple, easy-to-understand steps. During my lessons, I use prompting questions to help students understand the steps they should take to solve problems on their own. I am able to quickly diagnose weaknesses in the areas of time management, reading, math, vocabulary, etc., and turn them into strengths through my lessons and recommendations.

I worked as a College Tutor at Northern Virginia Community College before joining Wyzant's platform. I have guided and helped students of all backgrounds, including adult learners preparing for job certifications. I believe one of the things that help me stand out amongst other great tutors is my ability to relate with each student. I want all of my students to feel comfortable during my lessons, and I do my best in helping them get to a point of independence in their studies, even if it means they will no longer need me. I love to get to know each student and see them grow through the "Aha!" moments in our sessions.

When I do have free time, I try to spend it with my family and close friends. I enjoy building relationships and value them highly. My hope is that I can have a long lasting impact on each one of my students, not just in the subjects I teach them, but in other areas of life that might come up as we work together. I currently hold a Bachelors in Applied Mathematics from Rutgers University. If I can help my students love and appreciate Math and Physics a little more than they did before our sessions, that would be a success to me. Knowledgeable and Encouraging

Tim is an excellent tutor. He has been working with my son on SAT prep, physics and pre-calculus. As a B student with some learning challenges, my son needed a tutor that worked at a slower pace. Tim has done a great job helping my son prepare for tests while working at a good pace. Tim always responded to scheduling requests in a timely manner. I highly recommend him.
