My name is Michael. I’m a certified English and Special Education teacher, and I graduated from Kean University with high honors. Right now, I’m back at Kean working toward my M.A. in English and Writing Studies. Teaching and writing are two things I’ve always loved, and I enjoy helping students find confidence in their own reading, writing, and thinking.
I’m 22 years old and have experience working with a wide range of students. I’ve taught in both high- and low-socioeconomic districts, which has helped me learn how to adapt to all kinds of learning styles and needs. Most of my experience is with middle and high schoolers—grades 6 through 12—but I’ve also worked with younger students in grades 2 through 5. I currently teach English and Language Arts in a middle/high school setting, working with both general education and inclusion classes.
When it comes to tutoring, I try to keep things supportive, clear, and encouraging. I like to meet students where they are and help them build skills at their own pace, whether that’s writing essays, understanding literature, or just getting more confident in class.
