If you're a student who has ever felt like history just doesn't make sense no matter how hard you try, or a parent watching your child struggle to keep up — I want you to know that's exactly who I love working with. If you're a student who has ever felt like history just doesn't make sense no matter how hard you try, or a parent watching your child struggle to keep up — I want you to know that's exactly who I love working with. I'm a full-time 9th grade World History teacher at Bridgeton High School in New Jersey with four years of classroom experience, and the students I connect with most are the ones who arrived convinced they were just "bad at history." With the right approach, that changes.
I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rutgers University with a focus on pedagogy, a Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Oral Roberts University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. In my classroom I plan and deliver instruction using the Danielson Framework, which emphasizes rigorous, student-centered learning, and I incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure that content is accessible to students with a wide range of learning needs and styles.
My tutoring approach reflects that same philosophy. I don't lecture and hope things stick — I meet you where you are, break content down step by step, and build your skills in historical thinking, reading comprehension, and analytical writing at a pace that works for you. I work with students across the full range, from those who need to rebuild their confidence, all the way to motivated students pushing toward AP World exams.
