Hello! I’m an educator and tutor with a passion for helping students build confidence in math. I specialize in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I, and I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking the time to truly understand the material.
I’ve been tutoring for many years, beginning in high school when I started tutoring fellow students in math for extra credit. I went on to attend Rutgers University, where I earned Bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Psychology. I later earned my Master’s degree in Education from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, along with my teaching certificate. During my time at Rutgers, I worked with Rutgers Upward Bound, tutoring and mentoring high school students who were prospective first-generation college students. These experiences taught me how important it is to meet students where they are, adapt my approach to their individual needs, and help them recognize their own potential.
I also have professional classroom experience. I’ve spent over a year teaching at a performing arts high school, working with students with a variety of learning styles, personalities, and academic needs. My teaching experience, combined with my years of tutoring, has given me a strong understanding of how to break down challenging concepts and explain them in ways that are clear and accessible.
