I’ve spent years studying and teaching topics like ancient literature, mythology, and literary theory, and I love helping students discover how these subjects connect to their own interests and ways of thinking.

I’ve taught at Brown, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford, working closely with students on writing, reading, and critical thinking skills. Whether you're learning Greek or Latin, honing your essay writing skills, or just trying to make sense of a challenging reading, I focus on creating a supportive space where we can build on your strengths and take your interpretive skills to new levels.

My tutoring style is friendly, thoughtful, and curious. I aim to make complex ideas feel approachable and exciting, and I want my students to come away not only with stronger skills, but also with a deeper sense of confidence and connection to what they’re learning.

Essay Writing

I hold a DPhil and MSt in Classics from the University of Oxford and a BA in Latin and Comparative Literature from Haverford College. I’ve taught dozens of writing-intensive courses in Greek and Latin language, literature, and writing at Brown, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford, where I also advised senior theses in the humanities. Before graduate school, I worked for four years as a peer tutor in Haverford’s Writing Center, supporting students across disciplines in developing their writing and analytical skills. My expertise spans mythology, ancient literature, Classical Reception, and the intersections of disability studies and gender and sexuality studies. I especially enjoy helping students build confidence in their reading, writing, and interpretive voice.
Greek

Greek

I have over a decade of experience studying and teaching Ancient Greek language and literature. I’ve taught Greek at multiple levels—from introductory grammar and composition to advanced reading courses in authors like Homer, Herodotus, and Plato—at Brown, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford. My research explores how Greek texts have been read and reinterpreted across time, with attention to questions of gender, disability, and reception. As a tutor, I help students master the language’s structure while developing confidence in close reading, translation, and literary interpretation.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I’ve coached public speaking and presentation skills for many years through my work as a college instructor. In every course I taught at Brown, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford, I assigned and guided student presentations, helping students refine their arguments, strengthen delivery, and communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence. My experience spans everything from small seminar discussions to formal academic talks, and I emphasize authenticity, structure, and audience awareness. I enjoy helping students develop a speaking style that feels both natural and effective, whether they’re preparing for class presentations, interviews, or conferences.
