I also appreciate an environment that works as a team, with the best interest of the child in mind. I am a child advocate and appreciate an environment that respects the individual needs of each student and considers my input and observations.
I have been working with children on and off the ASD spectrum for over 10 years. I have a brother with Aspergers age 43 and a son age 22. I am presently employed by the State of Colorado as a one-on-one Consultant and caregiver for families with in-home needs. I work with a 19 year old boy, non-verbal autistic and has epilepsy.
I am also a substitute in the Adams 12-school Five Star District, working primarily with Children with Special Needs, Preschool- age 21. In Colorado, I am considered a Para-Classified. I have up to date CPI training, but need to re-certify in First Aid and CPR.
I studied at Antioch New England Graduate school, in Keene, NH, where I earned 158 CEU credits in Clinical Psychology and ASD certification.
I have worked with a diverse, cultural and disabled population in all of the places I have worked. I have held no judgments toward race, religion, challenges, etc...
I have worked in The Son Rise Program, in Richmond NH, Communication Disorder Collaborative at Fuller Elementary School, NH, PDD at Winchester Elementary School, NH, Montessori Schools (ages 1-5) in Charleston South Carolina and Keene,NH.
I created, directed and owned my own very successful; Kids R Wee, Learning Center for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. I offered a full day Kindergarten with a Certified Teacher, a free breakfast, lunch and snack program and served over 100 families while employing 22 staff members.
