I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology, have completed coursework in secondary education, and hold a Pharmacy Technician certification. My educational background has given me a strong foundation in the sciences, as well as an understanding of how people learn and process information. I currently work as a biotechnologist, where I continue to expand my scientific knowledge and practical experience. My long term goal is to return to an educational setting and teach college level biology laboratories, and tutoring is an opportunity for me to help others learn while continuing to grow as an educator.
My experience supporting students began at home as the oldest of three siblings. I spent significant time helping my youngest sister with her schoolwork throughout middle school, including finding ways to support her individual learning needs through her IEP. This experience taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and adapting explanations to suit each student's needs. I am comfortable working with students ages 13–18 and strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities.
My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into smaller, manageable pieces so students can understand the fundamentals before connecting them to the bigger picture. I also encourage active learning by asking guiding questions, using real world examples, and helping students develop problem-solving skills rather than simply memorizing information. I believe every student can make meaningful progress when given the right tools, encouragement, and support. I genuinely love learning and find it incredibly rewarding to see students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and recognize their own potential.
