Hi! I'm Starr, an experienced high school and middle school teacher of 17 years with a BS in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master's in Education (Summa Cum Laude). In addition, I am a certified K-8 educator trained in Orton Gillingham reading instruction with experience tutoring reading, phonics, and other elementary subjects.
My tutoring process is tailor-made, not one-size-fits-all. At our initial meeting, we will discuss your goals and needs, and I will craft a personalized plan based on that information. My goal is for you to truly understand the material, not just memorize definitions and algorithms. As our sessions progress, the plan will adapt to meet your evolving needs. Each session will include instruction and practice time, and for some topics, exploration to deepen understanding.
