About Christina

I have experience in tutoring college level writing and English as a Second Language, as well as elementary school math. I feel confident that I can help students in learning these subjects, plus science, math, history, and social studies. I did extremely well in high school and college, in all areas of study.

I taught English as a Second Language to adults and college students in New Hampshire, and I taught English to high school students in Prague, Czech Republic.

I also have a background in science (biology), as a student in college and in the Advanced Study Program at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. I'd also love to tutor in science and math.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

I've taught English to high school students in Prague, Czech Republic (6 months).

I taught ESL to adults through the Adult Tutorial Program in Littleton, NH (5 months).

I studied in an M.A. in Linguistics program at the University of New Hampshire (one year). My coursework included the Teaching of English as a Second Language. As a part of that, I led an ESL conversation group, provided one-on-one ESL conversation, and tutored ESL students in writing papers in the university writing center.
