I tutor privately one-on-one, mostly in middle school math. I start each student by identifying the gaps behind their current struggle, which are often fractions, negative numbers, or equation-solving habits. Then I connect that foundation to the homework or test in front of us.
I also have special education experience. I’m patient and flexible, break problems into small steps, and adjust pacing for students with learning differences, ADHD, autism, or math anxiety.
I graduated summa cum laude with honors from Auburn University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

I have tutored several students who struggle with ADHD, including 6th grade twin boys in math. I am trained in executive functioning and study skills which are important topics for ADHD students. I also was a behavioral therapist for a year and worked with a number of autistic students many of whom also had ADD/ADHD.

I worked as a behavioral therapist for autistic and other special needs children for one year. This role involved supporting children ages 6-20 in organizational, academic, and life skills capacities in classroom and private home settings. For this position, I completed a 40 hour training and certification process by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. I current work as an educational support person for a cohort of special needs students who are taking introductory college classes at the College of Marin. Their challenges range from autism to dyslexia to anxiety disorders, and include a variety of intellectual disabilities.

I scored a 201 (out of 240) on the PSAT, which helped me earn a National Hispanic Scholarship recognition and led to being offered a full scholarship to a number of universities, including Auburn University which I attended. I am currently tutoring a student on the ACT and I just completed SAT training for a premier Bay Area tutoring company.

I scored a 700+/800 on the SAT writing section. I attended a literature and english-focused high school where we took classes in poetry, creative writing, great works of literature, and other writing-heavy humanities classes such as philosophy.

Jaimen understood our daughter's need, he explained well and helped us to understand what she needs to work on to prepare for SAT English. My daughter really enjoying learning from him. He is well- prepared and provides her helpful study tips and homework. We highly recommend Jaimen.
