I am a college professor in New Hampshire and have also tutored college students in Massachusetts.
I have an engineering degree and advanced degrees in both mathematics and business. I spent most of my adult life designing, teaching, and helping companies use mathematical and statistical analysis software to improve their businesses.
As you can see, I have been using math and statistics my entire life. I have many stories to tell and examples that I can relate to the use of mathematics in real life. This helps my students better understand how to apply statistics and calculus, but, more importantly, why math and statistics are important.
While I try and make my teaching/tutoring as accessible as possible, and try to avoid mathematics jargon, I do have high expectations for my students. Learning math and statistics is all about doing problems and examples, so I expect my students to continually do new problems. I have a lot of resources that I can provide to help students do more problems.
I am not entirely a math nerd however. I also enjoy the NH outdoors; biking, hiking, skiing, sailing, boating and flying.
