My background in computer science is rooted in both formal education and hands-on professional experience. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA from Queens College, CUNY, with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, and I've since added two industry certifications: Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Developer and AWS Certified AI Practitioner. Outside of work, I write technical guides on my personal site covering topics like Spring AI, Docker, and developer tooling, which has helped me get comfortable breaking down complex ideas in writing.

Over the past five years as a software engineer, I've found myself in the role of teacher more often than I expected. I've mentored engineers one-on-one through building and shipping production systems, walked teams through architectural decisions, and given tech talks to groups of 15 or more on topics like Java, AI frameworks, and cloud infrastructure. The one-on-one mentoring has always been my favorite part. There's something satisfying about watching a concept finally click for someone after you find the right way to explain it.

I'm most comfortable tutoring in Java, Python, data structures and algorithms, Spring Boot, AWS fundamentals, and introductory AI/ML. I tend to lean on real code examples rather than purely theoretical explanations, and I adjust my pace and approach based on where someone is starting from. Whether someone is prepping for a technical interview, working through a university course, or just trying to make sense of a concept that hasn't clicked yet, I'm happy to meet them where they are.

Approved Subjects

Computer Programming

Computer Programming

I have five years of professional experience writing and shipping production code across a range of languages including Java, Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript, working on everything from RESTful APIs to event-driven microservices to AI-powered applications. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Queens College, CUNY, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA, along with an Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Developer certification. Throughout my career I've mentored engineers one-on-one and led internal tech talks for groups of 15 or more, so I'm comfortable explaining programming concepts at any level, whether someone is just starting out or working through more advanced topics. I focus on practical, hands-on learning and try to ground every concept in real code rather than pure theory.
Data Structures

Data Structures

I have five years of professional experience as a software engineer working with data structures daily across large-scale production systems, including trees, graphs, hash maps, queues, and more. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA in Computer Science from Queens College, CUNY, where data structures and algorithms were core to my coursework. In my professional work, I've applied these concepts to real problems like optimizing database sync pipelines, designing multi-vector retrieval architectures, and building event-driven microservices. I've also mentored engineers one-on-one on these topics and enjoy breaking down abstract concepts using concrete, working code examples.
Java

Java

I am an Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Developer with five years of hands-on experience building production Java applications, including RESTful services, event-driven batch processors, and microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Integration. In that time I've worked with core Java concepts like multithreading, generics, collections, and design patterns in real production environments, not just in textbook exercises. I've mentored engineers one-on-one on Java best practices and delivered internal tech talks on Java-based frameworks to groups of 15 or more, so I'm comfortable teaching Java at any level from complete beginner to advanced. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Queens College, CUNY, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA, giving me a strong foundation in both the theory and practical application of the language.
