Hi, I'm Eva! I’ve had a love for math since I was a kid, which has led me to tutor students of all ages in math for over ten years. I try to get my students to understand the how and why behind every problem, rather than just memorizing equations or using steps they don't understand.

Hi, I'm Eva! I’ve had a love for math since I was a kid, which has led me to tutor students of all ages in math for over ten years. I try to get my students to understand the how and why behind every problem, rather than just memorizing equations or using steps they don't understand.
After getting a perfect score on the SAT math section, I majored in math at Williams College (summa cum laude), the top liberal arts school in the country. I then took my appreciation for logic and problem solving to Stanford Law School.
I started tutoring math in high school, helping middle schoolers with the transition to upper level math. I tutored in everything from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. As a senior in high school, I assisted a teacher in an algebra class, leading lessons and helping students with homework. In college, I served as a TA for advanced math classes. While at Williams, I also assisted two math teachers in their high school classes, leading classes and even substitute teaching. I spent a summer in college teaching with a program called Breakthrough Collaborative, running my own math classroom for seventh graders. After college, I continued my math tutoring, volunteering as an elementary and middle school tutor.
Throughout my more than ten years of math tutoring experience, my approach has always been an individual approach. Each student understands each concept in their own unique way. My goal is to find what makes a concept click for a student, and then teach them according to that technique. I always want my students to understand what they’re doing to solve a problem and why it’s working the way it is. While quick tricks can be helpful, a baseline understanding is crucial to doing well in math.
