I recently graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in History and a minor in Computer Science. At Dartmouth, I developed strong research, writing, and analytical skills through coursework in history, computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. My senior thesis explored the Muscovy Company’s influence on the development of joint-stock corporate structure, which taught me the rigor required for original historical inquiry.
After college, I worked as a management consultant, where I helped electric utility clients develop technology and investment strategies during the growth of AI. This experience strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly, ask strong questions, and break large problems into manageable steps. It also gave me a practical background in business, data, strategy, and communication.
I later returned to New Hampshire to become a middle school social studies teacher, following in the footsteps of my grandfather, who taught social studies for nearly 50 years. I currently teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in an elementary school setting and have developed UDL-compliant curricula and materials for seven courses. I also advise 7th grade students, coach 5th and 6th grade soccer, and run a Coding Club where students learn the basics of JavaScript.
My tutoring style is patient and structured. I focus on helping students build confidence and the executive functioning skills required to succeed in their courses. I rely on socratic questioning (with any needed hints!) to push students towards a deeper understanding of the material than rote memorization or direct instruction.
I am especially prepared to tutor in history, social studies, writing, reading, study skills, and introductory coding. My experience as a classroom teacher, coach, researcher, and consultant helps me connect academic skills to real-world thinking. Most importantly, I enjoy working with young people and helping them discover that they are capable of more than they may realize.
