Dear Future Student,
My name is Luz and I graduated from high school with the highest academic achievement (3.73 GPA) and won the bronze medal in the national Spanish exam while taking AP Spanish. I am also bilingual in Spanish and English. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Medical Health Studies and plan to become a pediatrician. I am also a teacher at my local elementary school and help kids (ages 6-11) with homework. I work with them and give them tips on how to learn and memorize topics quickly. I love being able to make something tricky or unknown into something that the student feels comfortable learning and even explaining to others.
I was once in ESOL when I was little, and I know that the most important thing is to practice and feel comfortable learning. I have experience teaching kids Spanish or learning English because when I was the President of the Spanish National Society in High School, we taught the elementary kids Spanish. Every week, I would make posters, flashcards, games, and activities to make the learning process fun. I went through topics like greetings, the weather, animals, activities, sports, etc. Conversation is also a big part of learning a new language, so there is also lots of practice speaking. I plan to make the learning experience fun and at the same time educational. I look forward to meeting you!
