Hello, my name is Bryce, I studied Mathematics and Psychology (double major) at Northeastern University, achieving Bachelor's of Science in both. I have been doing tutoring off and on over the years, starting with tutoring students at my local middle and high schools, before moving on to online tutoring that I did at Tutor.com. In college, as well, I provided tutoring to peers attending with me. The experience I have gained over time has had me work with students from as early as elementary school up to adults in college. In particular, at tutor.com I did tutoring in both Mathematics and Psychology, and I assisted students of broad backgrounds. I would go from working with elementary school students on geometry and simple division to high schoolers working on calculus to college students writing a paper on behavioral psychology. I managed to work with these different students and provide tutoring that furthered their understanding of the subjects they were struggling with and empowered them to be able to solve the problems themselves, which is one of the most important parts of tutoring I believe.
My psychology education as well as my personal experience of being on the autism spectrum I believe in particular prepares me to be empathetic to students of all kinds and work with them through difficult concepts. My mathematics studies as well of course have provided me with an understanding of a wide variety of mathematical subjects from statistics to multivariable calculus to matrices. I think tutoring and education are important as helping students understand difficult concepts and improve their grades is not only good in providing them a better understanding of the world but also empowering them to have more choice in what they do in the future. I want to do work that helps improve the world and I think that being part of the education of the next generation does so. I believe at Wyzant I can help make that difference I want to and help students develop the understanding they need to tackle difficult problems.
