Hi! I’m Shannon. I graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors, earning a B.A. in Psychology from New York University, with minors in Data Science and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies (CAMS). I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College, where I study how people think, talk, and connect.
I have extensive experience as a 1-on-1 mentor. Over the course of three years, I worked as a writing tutor at the NYU Writing Center, helping over 100 students strengthen their academic essays and personal statements, and as a Python tutor at the Courant Institute, supporting more than 300 students with programming and problem-solving. I also earned a 36 (1-36 scale) on the ACT, so I know firsthand what strong test preparation looks like.
I want to make sure that you feel seen, heard, understood, and that I am the most helpful I can be for you. I’m open to suggestions if you have a preferred method for learning or a specific agenda for the topics that you would like to cover. Don’t be afraid to reach out with any questions! I look forward to working with you soon.
