After retiring from Lawrence, and moving to New Hampshire, I served as a substitute teacher at Sacred Heart School and Hampton Academy in Hampton, NH. I also substituted as a Chapter 1 teacher at Salisbury Elementary School.
Success in reading and writing across the curriculum is imperative. Whether a student is completing a history project or a STEM lesson, reading carefully and being able to explain and write answers to higher order questioning is vitally important for success to occur. Constructive feedback is most important to the student. The tutor must nurture the relationship, build trust, and steer the student in the right direction so he/she will find success.
