I'm a student at Plymouth State University, currently pursuing a degree in History and Social Studies Education. My studies have deepened my understanding of historical events, critical thinking, and effective teaching strategies, all of which I strive to bring into real-world educational settings. I’ve had the opportunity to apply my academic knowledge through hands-on experience, which has only strengthened my passion for teaching and supporting students as they grow academically.
Over the past few months, I’ve been tutoring at both the middle school and high school levels, focusing primarily on writing and historical analysis. I’ve helped students craft research-based historical essays, guiding them through the process of sourcing credible materials, building strong arguments, and writing with clarity and purpose. I've also supported students with argumentative writing, helping them develop thesis statements, structure their essays effectively, and use evidence to support their claims.
I’ve been volunteering at a local middle school for four hours each week for the past three months. During that time, I’ve worked closely with students who need extra support, offering individualized help in both classroom and one-on-one settings. This experience has been incredibly rewarding and has reinforced my commitment to becoming an educator who inspires curiosity, builds confidence, and fosters critical thinking in every student I work with.
