Hi, I'm Patroklos! Originally from Greece, where I earned a Bachelor's in Banking & Financial Management, and a Master's in Finance. Before coming to the US, I worked for five years in corporate finance advisory and investment banking. During that time I also became a CFA charter-holder. In the US, I received my MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
I first started tutoring high-school students and adults in political economy and finance as a college student. I was drawn to teaching and instructing and I had the opportunity to jump back to it during my MBA studies. I have worked with undergraduate students helping them grasp accounting and corporate finance concepts since 2011, within the Tuck Business Bridge Program. In 2020 I created and delivered an online business foundation course for a cohort of undergraduate students from a selective college in Massachusetts.
Most recently, I created and led a 9-day Business Foundation course for high-school students as part of the Dartmouth Summer Scholars program. The course, which was the most popular of the offerings, focuses on a real-life business valuation project. It is delivered in-person, for a total of approximately 40 hours. At the moment, I am working with a leading educational technology company to launch an asynchronous finance course. I am leading the design and development of the course which should be available in 2025.
I am drawn to tutoring because I enjoy helping students improve their understanding of and performance in subjects that at first look inaccessible but can be tackled and form the basis of some much more. I believe studying finance and accounting has provided me with a way of thinking that is valuable, and I'm excited for the opportunity to help others develop that.
