My name is Charles and I have won multiple teaching awards as a professor of German. I hold a PhD in German Literature and I am fluent in the language. I’ve lived, studied, and worked in Germany for many years and have been happily married to my German wife for the past 17 years. In short: I speak and live the language every single day.
I hold a PhD in German Literature and I’ve taught German continuously in the US-university system since 2003, both face-to-face and online. I have extensive experience teaching and developing curriculum at all language levels, from beginning German to upper-level literature courses for advanced speakers. Additionally, I am an active scholar with multiple books and articles to my name, including a publication on teaching Business German.
One of my great joys is working with language students and watching their confidence grow as speakers and readers. I get to do this in my daily job, but I also visit local high schools to meet with school-age learners. I am comfortable working with middle-school, high-school, college, or adult learners and can tailor my lessons to the student’s needs, whether that is test-preparation or language growth for the working professional.
