My name is Christina and I have a BS in Physics with a Minor in Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This summer I am finishing my Masters in Physics Education Research at the University of New Hampshire. In the future I will continue graduate school for a PhD in Physics, most likely relating to black hole mergers.

I absolutely adore math, and love thinking of shortcuts and the most efficient, creative ways to solve problems. In middle school I won my regional MATHCOUNTS competition twice because of such pursuits, and it has instilled in me a love for standardized tests. I took the SAT 5 times, once a year starting in 7th grade. By 9th grade I had a math score of 770 and by 11th I had a reading score of 710. I received a 5/5 on the AP Calculus AB exam in 9th grade. I took the GRE twice, receiving a perfect score in math both times.

I have tutored students younger and older than myself at every stage of education, be it elementary, middle, high school, or being employed by RPI as a tutor. I then tutored over one thousand hours through Wyzant before going to graduate school full-time, where I tutored over another thousand hours. As a teaching assistant at UNH, I taught all of the formats of Physics 1 and 2, including honors. I was also the sole teacher of the Physics 3 Lab. Currently I am writing my thesis on differentiated learning in upper-level physics courses. I enjoy passing on my love of learning and am enthralled by the challenge of using creativity to explain concepts to each student in a new way specific to their interests and learning style.

I am so excited to tutor through Wyzant again! Students leaving a session with me will have a new way to look at the concepts they were struggling with and will have a new found excitement for the subject matter. They will be more efficient at solving problems and have an improved mathematical memory. The money will then help me continue my education. It's a win-win! I can't wait to start working with you, so let me know how I can help!

Calculus

Calculus

I have tutored for thousands of hours and have taught many calculus-based physics courses at UNH. This experience and knowledge base allow me to share how applicable calculus is to daily life and the world around us. I am writing my Master's thesis on differentiated learning in upper-level physics courses. I enjoy passing on my love of learning and am enthralled by the challenge of using creativity to explain concepts to each student in a new way specific to their interests and learning style. Precalculus

Precalculus

I have tutored for thousands of hours and have taught many calculus-based physics courses at UNH. This experience and knowledge base allow me to share how useful precalculus concepts are and how they apply to future courses and the world around us. Currently, I am writing my Master's thesis on differentiated learning in upper-level physics courses. SAT Math

SAT Math

I'm a Physics Education Researcher who has tutored for thousands of hours and has taught many physics courses at UNH. I absolutely adore math, and love thinking of shortcuts and the most efficient, creative ways to solve problems. I took the SAT 5 times, once a year starting in 7th grade. Even though most students struggle to finish the math sections, I tended to complete each section twice, then take a nap. The "tricks" employed are actually tied to a better understanding of mathematical principles and help the student for the test and far beyond. I can't wait to show you! Let's work together to undo the bad habits taught in school and learn math for real! Shoot me a message or check out my bio for more info.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have tutored for thousands of hours and have taught many physics courses at UNH. Since physics heavily relies on trig, I've had the pleasure of deepening students' understanding of how to apply trig to the world around us. Currently, I am writing my Master's thesis on differentiated learning in upper-level physics courses. I enjoy passing on my love of learning and am enthralled by the challenge of using creativity to explain concepts to each student in a new way specific to their interests and learning style. The best tutor ever!

Christina helped me get through University Physics II. A class I had previously failed and I was absolutely dreading to retake. Christina made the topics easy to understand and was always patient when explaining. I couldn't recommend someone more, she is amazing!

Amazing Chem & Algebra Tutor!

After just the first session, my daughter came home in smiles, super confident about her upcoming Chem and Algebra exams (both of which she aced). She said Christina was like a human calculator and knew exactly how to help her with the sections she needed reviewed in a way that immediately clicked for her. My daughter will 100% jump at the opportunity to work with Christina again if she needs tutoring in the future. 5/5 Stars!!

Amazing Tutor!

I would not know what was happening in my Multidimensional Calculus class at all if I didn't have Christina to help me! I was hesitant to get a tutor at first, but she has never made me feel dumb or incapable! I can't recommend her enough!

Such a great help!

Christina helped my daughter look at her calculus problems differently in order to determine the proper way and order to solve the equations. A lightbulb definitely went on during their session and my daughter felt very confident going into her next test after her session. Thank you!

Reluctant teen is now a huge fan!

My daughter was at first reluctant to head into a tutor session. Within 10 minutes into the session Christina was able to unwind one of the common errors my daughter was making and had a lightbulb moment! After that Christina continued to guide my daughter through different ways to approach problems and was a huge success. Now she wants to continue with Christina and she is a huge fan! Thank you, Christina! 👏

Wonderful tutor!

Christina was extremely helpful during both sessions with my daughter . We have a tutor who was out of town & Christina jumped right in to keep Ella on track . We are very thankful !

Very Nice To Work With!

We reviewed pre calculus materials that I had already learned to prepare for learning calculus. Christina provided me with worksheets to continue to practice between sessions.
