Hi, my name is Dasha and I’m a PhD student in applied math! I have a B.S. in Applied Math from the University of New Hampshire and I have been tutoring students for 8 years! I have experience working with ages 10 to 30, but am willing to also work with young children as well. I have tutored Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, PreCalc, Calc 1, Calc 2, Statistics, Multidimensional Calc, Differential Equations and College Linear Algebra. I also have some experience tutoring high school Chemistry, Biology, AP US History, and English as well the ability to assist with introductory to intermediate coding assignments in Python, Java, C++, and Matlab.
I have worked as a one on one tutor fairly consistently for the past 8 years with usually one or two students that I met with for a year or more. I also worked at my university’s Math Assistance Center as a tutor which was group tutoring. I would have between 1 and 30 students depending on where we were in the semester and I would typically transition to more of a classroom type approach (doing example problems out on the board and then having them walk me through what steps I should take) with more than 8 students. Finally, I have also spent the last year working as a TA at UNH which involved one on one time with students in office hours, running 50 minute recitations for students (20 to 25 students), and holding 2 hour review sessions for exams.
