About Kim

Bio

I am a tenth year teacher at Pelham High School, as well as the math department dean. I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, PreCalculus, and Statistics. I have a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Assumption College, a Masters Degree in education from Fitchburg State University, and a CAGS Degree in school administration from New England College. I enjoy learning and challenging myself.

I have experience teaching with students of all abilities. I have been in both urban and suburban settings. However, I really enjoy working one-on-one with students to help them succeed. In a classroom, it can be hard to reach each student. In a tutoring situation, I can see the progress being made clearly. I can help with misunderstandings and ultimately help the student grow in their math ability. Being able to help students learn math brings me great joy!

I have taught algebra 1 for several years. I am well versed in the content. Additionally, I have worked with a wide range of students, from very low to mathematically gifted, so I can reach every student. I also have experience teaching ELL and students with disabilities.

I have been a teacher of Honors Algebra 2 and College Algebra 2 for four years.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have taught Honors PreCalculus for two years now and have been a major part of improving the curriculum for the course team. My knowledge of PreCalc has improved greatly and I feel very comfortable with the material.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Very familiar with the test structure of the math SAT and have vast experience with test prep, individual and as groups. I have even designed and implemented a SAT bootcamp to prepare an entire junior class. The college board has been making changes to the test, but I am up to date on all of it.
