I'm Rosey, an educational specialist with 18 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. I currently serve as a Student Wellness Coordinator where I develop and teach competency-based courses, provide individualized behavioral support, and mentor adolescents and young adults. Prior to this role, I spent 17 years as an educational paraprofessional at Concord High School working with students navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, and learning differences in both special education and general education settings. Throughout my career, I've developed and implemented hundreds of individualized behavior plans, trained staff on trauma-informed approaches, and supported students through one-on-one coaching, small group instruction, and classroom support. My approach is grounded in evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles and trauma-informed practices, areas where I've completed extensive advanced training. I specialize in executive function development—teaching students the organizational, planning, time management, and self-regulation skills that traditional education often assumes students already have. I work with middle school, high school, and young adult students ages 11 through 22, meeting them where they are without judgment and helping them build practical systems and strategies they can use independently. I focus on understanding underlying challenges and building skills that create lasting change rather than managing immediate problems. In addition to executive function and behavioral support, I tutor English, reading, and writing. Having developed and taught multiple credit-bearing English Language Arts courses, I bring both content expertise and an understanding of how executive function challenges impact academic performance. I help students with reading comprehension strategies, essay writing, literary analysis, grammar, and study skills.

ADHD

ADHD

I have 18 years of experience working directly with students with ADHD in educational settings, including 17 years as an educational paraprofessional and my current role as Student Wellness Coordinator. I specialize in executive function development, organizational systems, time management strategies, and behavioral support specifically tailored to how ADHD brains work. I've developed and implemented hundreds of individualized support plans for students with ADHD, trained staff on ADHD-specific strategies, and completed advanced training in evidence-based approaches including CBT techniques. I teach students practical systems for organization, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through that work WITH their ADHD rather than against it.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Throughout my 18 years in educational settings, I've worked extensively with students on the autism spectrum, supporting their academic, social, and behavioral needs. My experience includes working with students using various communication modalities including AAC devices, PECS systems, and American Sign Language. I'm proficient in Introductory ASL and have taught Introduction to American Sign Language courses. I understand the importance of clear communication, structured routines, visual supports, and individualized approaches for students with autism. I've developed behavior plans and support strategies specifically for students with ASD, focusing on their unique strengths and needs while building executive function and social-emotional skills.
Sign Language

Sign Language

I am proficient in Introductory American Sign Language at a conversational and instructional level, having used ASL extensively throughout my career supporting students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or use ASL as their primary communication method. I've developed and taught an Introduction to American Sign Language course as part of my curriculum development work, covering ASL vocabulary, grammar, conversational skills, and Deaf culture. My experience includes supporting nonverbal students and students with communication disabilities using ASL as well as other communication modalities. I teach ASL to beginners and intermediate students, focusing on practical communication, cultural understanding, and building confidence in using the language.

I have 18 years of specialized experience supporting students with diverse special needs including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, behavioral challenges, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities. My background includes 17 years as an educational paraprofessional in special education settings and my current role coordinating student wellness and support services. I've co-developed and implemented individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans, adapted curriculum and instruction for diverse learners, provided one-on-one and small group support, and trained staff on differentiated instruction and accommodation strategies. I specialize in trauma-informed approaches, executive function support, behavioral intervention, and creating inclusive learning environments where all students can succeed. CBT Certified. REBT Certified. Certified Sobriety Coach.
Speech

Speech

While I am not a licensed speech-language pathologist, I have extensive experience supporting students with speech and communication needs throughout my 18 years in educational settings. I've worked closely with speech therapists to implement communication strategies, support students using AAC devices and alternative communication systems, and am proficient in Introductory American Sign Language. My experience includes supporting students with articulation difficulties, language processing challenges, and expressive/receptive language delays in educational contexts. I provide academic and organizational support that complements speech therapy services, helping students apply communication strategies across their school day and build confidence in their communication abilities.
