As a person who loves learning, I find myself back at college finishing up a degree in management while I busily spend several mornings a week involved in a literacy program at a local pre-school. I am also involved in the Oasis Program doing one on one tutoring with a kindergarten student who is a wee bit ADD. She is a gem, so we go from rolling around on equipment in the rec room at her local elementary school to painting, then reading and writing stories.

As a person who loves learning, I find myself back at college finishing up a degree in management while I busily spend several mornings a week involved in a literacy program at a local pre-school. I am also involved in the Oasis Program doing one on one tutoring with a kindergarten student who is a wee bit ADD. She is a gem, so we go from rolling around on equipment in the rec room at her local elementary school to painting, then reading and writing stories.
I choose to work part time because I have already been in two full careers both in banking and investments. When I orginally went back to school I took courses in education, beginning with a course called Children with Exceptionalities and Education Psychology. I did a practicum at a alternative Charter School where I worked with students who had been in trouble but wanted to earn their diploma by going back to school rather then getting a GED. A very rewarding experience and all the students I worked with were able to graduate.
My natural abilities are more in reading and creative writing. I like setting realistic goals for students so their frustration level doesn't get too high. It's one step at a time and we will build on that to get you where you need to be in the right amount of time.
