In addition, I graduated from Penn State University with a Masters in geosciences, Southern New Hampshire University with a Masters in education, and University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in physics with a focus in astrophysics.
Throughout my academic career and beyond, I have always had a passion for education and teaching, having taught both formally and informally for over a decade. This includes teaching at the collegiate, high school and middle school levels, regular outreach at elementary schools, along with one-on-one tutoring.
Alongside my academics and teaching career, I have been an avid fitness enthusiast as a distance runner, rock climber and mountaineer. In my younger years I was a cross country and track athlete, but now my focus has shifted to high altitude mountaineering. Some notable ascents have been Mt. Whitney, Kilimanjaro, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, and Denali. I have come to learn how important fitness is for these adventures, not just muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance but also balance, stability, flexibility, mental discipline and self-care.
