I can help you with math or science. It's not rocket science...but I am. A rocket scientist, that is. I am a retired engineer who worked on the Apollo program to land a man on the moon. For several years, I helped design jet engines for commercial aircraft. I have a Professional Engineering License and a patent issued by the US patent office.
My tutoring experience includes three years tutoring at the Caridad Center of the Migrant Association of South Florida. I enjoy working with students, and have been told I have a way of simplifying complicated subjects. I can help you! I can help you with math or science. It's not rocket science...but I am. David did a great job helping my son understand some of the difficult math concepts he was challenged with on the Math SAT practice test. David is patient, and does a great job explaining the concepts. He was also able to work with our tight time constraints. Great tutor.
Each of us as individuals having strengths and weaknesses. It appears geometry and the rush to conclusion is mine. The high level of geometry skills and patience David has may be the ticket. Tutoring and guidance in geometry thus enabled a more tangible understanding that David provided to the mathematics. David's help in time should enable me to be successful in my course. Our first lesson provided greater insight to the basics that I seem to overlook. A lesson in slow down and see to understand. This course is going to leap quickly from chapter 1 to chapter 7 the beginning, while ending in chapter 12, having a tutor such as David should help me polish my algebra that hinders my success in Calculus II. Algebra is like the tires and Calculus is the Roadster, it's all about where the rubber meets the road.
Dave tutored by son in math from midway through his sophomore year until yesterday. He's about to graduate from high school and go on to college in the fall. Dave really helped him improve his math grades. My son says he explained things in a way that made sense to him. Thanks Dave! We'll miss you!
I have been using Dave as a tutor to assist me with Algebra and Trig. I currently have an A in this class and I couldn't have done it without his help. He is very patient and adjusts his style of teaching to fit the style of your class instructor. In math there are many different ways to come out with the same answer and he'll work with you to help you learn at your pace.
Dave is also very reliable with arriving to tutoring sessions on time. He maximizes the time that he spends with you and his rates are reasonable.
I feel much more prepared to tackle Physics (next semester) with Dave at my side.
Thank you, Dave!
Very helpful tutor! When going through problems, David explains every problem step by step to make sure you understand what you need to do for future similar problems. He is patient and thorough in his explanations.
David G. was a great tutor. He was very patient with me. I learned how to use many different features of Microsoft Excel, he helped a lot with Calculus. David always came to appointments on time, and had very flexible hours. I recommend David for any one looking to learn Excel for the first time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
