I have a B.S. in physics and was granted a US DoD security clearance in 2008. My interests include: sailing, reading, programming, business, writing, cooking, backgammon, history, philosophy, psychology, meditation, and science. I have a broad business background with extensive experience as a real estate investor and mortgage financing....

I am a senior software engineer, analyst, and designer specializing in web based business applications under the Java J2EE MVC object oriented methodologies. I have a B.S. in physics and was granted a US DoD security clearance in 2008. My interests include: sailing, reading, programming, business, writing, cooking, backgammon, history, philosophy, psychology, meditation, and science. I have a broad business background with extensive experience as a real estate investor and mortgage financing. I have a Grandmaster ranking in karate which I began studying in 1968. I am also an experienced, though unpublished, author having written not only numerous technical white papers and a few book length manuscripts, but I have also 2 completed fiction novels. I love to share all of these experiences and would be happy to chat with anyone as to how I could help them gain more understanding of the things I love to do. I live in Dover, New Hampshire but can work with anyone anywhere via internet, Skype, or consulting on the phone. Depending on needs, I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance to work with you, or an extended distance for the proper compensation.

I began my training in the Martial Arts in 1968, obtaining my 1st Degree Black Belt in Shudo-Kan Karate from National Karate Association Grandmaster S.A. Brock in 1970. After receiving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Eastern Illinois University in 1972, I opened the Rose School of Karate in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I received my 5th Degree Black Belt Masters promotion from Grandmaster S.A. Brock in 1976 and was made Senior Vice President and Senior Board Member of the National Karate Association. I received my 7th Degree in 1986. In 1992 I became President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the C&S Self Defense Association and in 1994 received my 8th Degree Black Belt Grandmasters ranking. On May 17, 2006, after training with the cane since 2003, I tested for my Black Belt in CaneMasters International from CaneMaster Bruce Vinciguerra and received my certificate from Grandmaster Mark Shuey Sr. On May 21, 2007, the C&S Self Defense Association Governing Council awarded me a promotion to 9th Degree Black Belt at the association's All Disciple Retreat In Illinois.

I've been writing my whole life. I have a passion, almost a need, to express myself in words on paper. In the past, I wrote more for myself and for my own education and fulfillment than I did with a thought for publication. Although I believe that I've said about all I care to in the technical arena of software applications development, I continue to produce new work in nonfiction and martial arts. I've been focusing on writing fiction since 2006, as I find the process exhilarating.

My Tutorial Experience: Great

I had an incredible experience with Mr. R. Mr. R is an industry professional that has a plethora of professional software development skills. I was able to make a connection to the lessons that I have previously taken from other teachers and the books that I have read that left me "fuzzy." However after working with him for ONE DAY, I now have a crystallized understanding of Java Programming. There is no other way to describe his teaching talents other than by saying he has a very unique and special way of galvanizing the software industry and the student's individual desire to obtain success. I recommend him to anyone who is interested in seriously pursuing Java Programming as a career.
