I'm Kara! I graduated with a bachelor's degree is Business Management in 2013. I soon realized that Corporate America was not my passion and pursued a master's degree in education. I graduated with a Master's of Arts in Teaching in 2018. I have worked with children in several different capacities for the last 25 years including swim lessons, childcare, preschool, and elementary education. I enjoy making learning fun and relatable for students. I usually begin a lesson by connecting the content to the students world in an engaging way. Then we dive into explicit instruction. Once the content has been taught I have time for practice and usually a fun game or creative assignment where they can exercise what they have learned.
I have been a classroom teacher for the last 5 years and have begun working with students 1 on 1 over the last year. I enjoy helping students 1 on 1 and helping them to grow in their education! I have experience tutoring elementary students in both reading and math. I enjoy individualizing lessons to each student and their individual goals so that students can develop to their full potential.
