I am a mom and a grandma. As a full-time substitute teacher, I am experienced with all age groups and am skilled at finding the roadblocks to successful learning.
I am a firm believer in "the power of yet". I was a ballet dancer when I was young and terrible at math. When I went to college in New York, I had to take four quarters of remedial math just to qualify for college level courses. Bernard Baruch had a focus on business, people were vying to get into their MBA program and the math requirements were very stringent. I found that once I had filled in some gaps in my knowledge, I was really pretty good at it and have taken many math courses since then.
If you are having problems with math, it may be because you have not yet acquired the full foundation for understanding. Please contact me and together we can see if we can identify some gaps in your knowledge base. You just may find that you enjoy math and actually have an aptitude for it.
