I am a freshman Physics major at Creighton University, where I have maintained a 4.0 GPA since enrolling. Prior to college, I graduated from Ravenna High School with a 4.0 GPA and a 33 on the ACT, placing me in the 98th percentile of test-takers nationwide — a foundation that gives me strong insight into what it takes to excel on standardized tests like the ACT and SAT. Additionally, I took classes such as AP Chemistry in my senior year and Robotics throughout my high school career, ensuring I have adequate and up-to-date knowledge across both broad fields.
My tutoring experience spans both peer and professional settings. Throughout my academic career, I have informally tutored classmates across a range of subjects, including math, physics, robotics, and test preparation, working one-on-one to help them break down difficult concepts and build confidence. More recently, I was hired by Creighton University as a Communications Tutor, where I work with college students to strengthen their writing and speaking abilities.
In my tutoring approach, developed through LEADS training and professional experience, I prioritize understanding where a student is struggling before jumping to solutions, and, more importantly, I emphasize that the student comes up with their own solutions. Allowing the information to become more deeply embedded. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than just drilling answers. Finally, I tailor my suggestions to students' needs, because everyone learns differently.
I am comfortable working with middle school, high school, and college-level students in one-on-one settings, and I am eager to continue growing as a tutor on the Wyzant platform.
