Bio

I am a freshman Physics major at Creighton University, where I have maintained a 4.0 GPA since enrolling. Prior to college, I graduated from Ravenna High School with a 4.0 GPA and a 33 on the ACT, placing me in the 98th percentile of test-takers nationwide — a foundation that gives me strong insight into what it takes to excel on standardized tests like the ACT and SAT. Additionally, I took classes such as AP Chemistry in my senior year and Robotics throughout my high school career, ensuring I have adequate and up-to-date knowledge across both broad fields.
My tutoring experience spans both peer and professional settings. Throughout my academic career, I have informally tutored classmates across a range of subjects, including math, physics, robotics, and test preparation, working one-on-one to help them break down difficult concepts and build confidence. More recently, I was hired by Creighton University as a Communications Tutor, where I work with college students to strengthen their writing and speaking abilities.
In my tutoring approach, developed through LEADS training and professional experience, I prioritize understanding where a student is struggling before jumping to solutions, and, more importantly, I emphasize that the student comes up with their own solutions. Allowing the information to become more deeply embedded. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than just drilling answers. Finally, I tailor my suggestions to students' needs, because everyone learns differently.
I am comfortable working with middle school, high school, and college-level students in one-on-one settings, and I am eager to continue growing as a tutor on the Wyzant platform.

Approved Subjects

AFOQT

AFOQT

I scored in the 99th percentile on the AFOQT, passing all subtests at the highest level across both rated and non-rated sections, demonstrating mastery of the full range of skills the exam covers — from math and science to verbal, spatial, and situational judgment. As someone actively pursuing a military career path, I prepared for the AFOQT through a combination of independent study and dedicated prep materials, giving me firsthand insight into the most effective strategies for tackling each section of the test. I understand the high stakes of this exam and the unique pressure that comes with preparing for a military officer qualification, and I bring both the subject knowledge and the personal experience to guide students through the process confidently. Whether you are just beginning your prep or looking to improve a specific subtest score, I can help you build a focused, efficient study plan tailored to your goals.
Debate

Debate

While my competitive background is rooted in persuasive speech rather than formal debate, I hold NSDA judge certification that extends across debate formats, giving me a thorough understanding of the rules, expectations, and evaluation criteria that define competitive debate. My experience judging speech and debate meets has allowed me to observe and assess argumentation, evidence use, and delivery at a competitive level, giving me a trained eye for what separates good debaters from great ones. As a Communications Tutor at my university and someone who has completed multiple college courses in communication, I bring a strong foundation in the principles of persuasion, logical structure, and effective rhetoric that are at the heart of any strong debate performance. I am passionate about helping students find their voice, build confident arguments, and think critically on their feet — skills that will serve them far beyond the debate round.
MATLAB

MATLAB

I have completed MATLAB Onramp, Machine Learning Onramp, Cluster Analysis with Machine Learning, and MATLAB Desktop Tools and Troubleshooting Scripts — certified training courses totaling approximately 6.5 hours of formal instruction covering core programming, data analysis, and machine learning applications within MATLAB. In addition to this certified training, I have been an active member of a computational research team for one semester, where I have applied MATLAB's built-in AI and machine learning tools to the analysis of medical images in a professional research setting. This experience demonstrates proficiency in both the foundational and advanced capabilities of MATLAB, including script troubleshooting, desktop tools, and implementing machine learning models. The combination of completed certifications and applied research experience reflects a working knowledge of MATLAB across multiple domains, including data science, machine learning, and image analysis.
Robotics

Robotics

I competed in VEX V5 robotics throughout high school, serving in every major role on my team — programmer, driver, builder, and engineering notebookist — giving me a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of the entire robotics design process from concept to competition. My competitive record speaks for itself: I earned a Programming Award at a regional meet, a Skills Award at another, and qualified for the state competition four times, demonstrating consistent excellence across multiple seasons and skill sets. Beyond competing, I am a certified VEX judge, meaning I understand not only how to build and program a winning robot, but also how teams are evaluated and what judges are looking for in both performance and documentation. Whether you are just getting started in VEX or looking to sharpen a specific area like programming, driving strategy, or your engineering notebook, I have the experience across all facets of the competition to help you succeed.
Speech

Speech

I have an extensive background in competitive speech, having participated in persuasive speaking throughout high school and earning both NSDA and NSAA judge certifications, which have given me a deep understanding of what strong, effective communication looks like at a competitive level. I have applied this expertise hands-on by judging multiple speech meets, evaluating students across nearly every format of competition speaking and providing constructive feedback to help them improve. At the collegiate level, I was hired by my university as a Communications Tutor, have completed multiple college courses in communication, and have pursued self-directed study — including reading Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo — to continuously deepen my understanding of what makes communication truly persuasive and impactful. Whether you are preparing for a competition, a class presentation, or simply looking to become a more confident and compelling speaker, I bring both the competitive knowledge and the teaching experience to help you get there.

Great Introduction!

If you’re looking for a tutor to learn something for fun, Patrick is willing to help you. I was uncertain of where to go for a more vague lesson plan but my needs have been accommodated quite well. He helped form a lesson plan and tailored it to my needs. Overall, great first lesson!
