Georgia State (mathematics)
I realized I loved tutoring when I started helping my wife's friends get through nursing school. Soon after began tutoring at Georgia Perimeter College and earned my associates degree in mathematics with a concentration on secondary education. While tutoring at the college for well over ten years I learned many different techniques and approaches to help people learn the same type of problems, because everyone learns differently.
After earning my B.S. in Mathematics at Georgia State University I was offered the position of Mathematics and Science Lab Supervisor. In that position I continued to tutor students and to train other tutors as well.
I love math, and helping others to learn it. While enjoying all math, I specialize in Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. I look forward to being able to help you in your Math Classes. I realized I loved tutoring when I started helping my wife's friends get through nursing school. Jason has been an absolute treasure!!! He is very attentive and knows his stuff!!! I am an adult learner and have been away from the books for well over 20+ years. I began a chemistry class that I felt I was sinking in... He saved the day!! His knowledge and patients will definitely get you on the right track. Jason has been available at my convenience every week!! I can't say enough but.. a HUGE THANK YOU for what you've done for me!!!
Jason has brought my son from being a 'D' student in math to being an 'A' student in math. I am ever grateful!
My granddaughter, who is college age, is happy with her choice of a tutor. The first lesson went great. She is looking forward to working with Jason this semester.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was the math and science lab supervisor at Georgia Perimeter College for five years, and tutored there for 10 years before that. We were open to the public, so I have tutored students in high school, and college for a long time. The subjects I tutored in were Calculus 1, 2, and 3, General Biology, Cell Biology, Chemistry 1 and 2 along with Organic Chemistry. College Algebra and Remedial Math were our most tutored subjects. PreCalculus, Trigonometry and Statistics with Probability were among my favorite subjects to teach.
I received an A in Algebra 1 and 2. I received an A in college algebra and won math student of the semester. I have tutored college and high school students for 15 years in Algebra. I have developed multiple ways to teach any and every subject related to algebra in order to help the individual student learn.
I received an A at Georgia State in this class. It was required in my math degree. I also tutored many students in this class at GPC. During the 15 years I tutored there most of the discrete math students were from GPC itself, but I also helped many from Clayton State.
