I am a PhD student studying Statistics. I dabbled in Data Science at Columbia University in the City of New York after graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and a focus in Statistics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, obtaining a 4.0 in my major. While an undergrad, I worked through the University as a resource center counselor, in-class learning assistant, honors teaching assistant for Calculus II, and advanced grader for Real Analysis and Modern Algebra courses. I also worked with high school students and graduating seniors knocking out their last math requirement before graduate school.

I received an A in every math class I took at the undergraduate level--and because of the mastery I obtained through the hours of studying and reviewing, as well as the years of experience I have in tutoring every topic up to and including Multivariable Calculus and several subjects beyond, I am the ideal tutor for someone who wants to see the challenging concepts they are learning in a simple, non-intimidating light.

I tutor the Quantitative section of the GRE, SAT, and ACT; SAT I and SAT II Math subject tests, SSAT and ISEE, as well the math classes of Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Real and Complex Analysis, Group Theory, Abstract Algebra, Modern Algebra, Topology, and Measure Theory. Finally, I tutor Mathematical Statistics, Computational Statistics, Experimental Design, ANOVA, Bayesian, Linear and Generalized Models, Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMM), Inferential Statistics, Multivariable Regression, Factor Analysis and PCA, Non-Parametric Statistics, and Asymptotics.

I pride myself in the value I bring into a student's learning experience. Thus, I am always open to any resources or suggestions unique to an individual student's needs. I respond quickly to all inquiries and am very easy to work with. Feel free to contact me with any further questions or to schedule a lesson!

Outstanding Tutor Turned My Stats Anxiety into Top-Class Performance

Michael was an outstanding tutor who helped me master statistics, specifically applied multivariate analytics. I started the course feeling incredibly anxious, but with his guidance, I gained confidence and ultimately excelled and became one of the top students in the class. I can confidently say I would never have passed this class without his support. Michael’s teaching style is both clear and patient; he explains complex topics directly and breaks them down in a way that’s easy to understand. Whenever I struggled with a concept, he quickly adapted his approach to ensure I grasped it. I highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for expert support in advanced statistics.

Fantastic Tutor

Michael was instrumental in my understanding of Complex Analysis this semester. He was able to help me in multiple areas from talking over concepts, reviewing homework, and reading over essays. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a second source in Mathematics.

Can’t thank him enough!

We had such a great experience with Michael! My son really connected with him and actually enjoyed the ACT math sessions, which is saying a lot. He was super patient, explained things clearly, and made sure my son truly understood the material instead of just memorizing steps. There was a noticeable difference in both his confidence and his improvement. He was also very reliable and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend if you're looking for someone who knows their stuff and genuinely cares about helping kids succeed.

Masterclass in SSAT prep

Michael G helped my 8th grader with SSAT test prep. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he has a gift for teaching the subject matter so that my kid gets it. He assures that he addresses whatever you need help with (he will inquire in detail what would help the most), which makes the session very effective. He works well with teenagers (which is a gift as well). He helped my daughter significantly increase her math SSAT scores with a few sessions. 5 stars
