University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Journalism)
I am a 22-year veteran of the news business and a full-time working editor. I am a 1991 cum laude graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and have worked at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Orlando Sentinel, and now at the Lincoln Journal Star. I have written many editorials, columns, articles, and event reviews on deadline, and I can put that experience to work for you.
A typical day for me as interactivity editor includes sifting through reams of letters and columns and editing them to be fit for a professional publication. I have worked with hundreds of writers to make their copy sing.
I count helping young writers improve as my greatest strength. I can look at what you've written before, advise you on how to strengthen what you've done as well as help you come up with a plan for effectively writing new reports or essays. I am used to working under deadline pressure and will value your time, helping you to get better as quickly as possible. I'm easy to work with and would love to help you strengthen your skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
